Reading a Live Narrative War in Real Time with Pulse
A live field study running Pulse on the public discourse around Operation Sindoor in May 2025, separating coordinated amplification from organic reaction across languages and platforms as the event unfolded.
Challenge
During Operation Sindoor in May 2025, online discourse moved faster than any newsroom or monitoring dashboard could keep up with. The information space filled with recycled old footage, video game clips passed off as strikes, and synchronized multilingual hashtags, all mixed into genuine public reaction. The open question for any brand, institution, or communications team caught nearby was simple and urgent: which spikes were real, which were manufactured, and where was each narrative about to spread next. This was a public event, not a client engagement, so the study ran entirely on publicly available discourse to demonstrate what the Pulse engine surfaces under live pressure.
Solution
Helios pointed Pulse at the live public conversation and let the coordination engine work as designed. Ingestion pulled discourse across platforms in real time, including Hindi, English, and code-switched text. The coordination engine scored each surging narrative on organic versus seeded signals, looking at synchronized posting windows, near-duplicate phrasing across supposedly unrelated accounts, sudden cluster formation, and recycled or repurposed media. Driver mapping surfaced the accounts and clusters pushing each narrative, and the timing view flagged which threads were accelerating toward an inflection versus burning out. The Action Center translated each read into a plain next move, the same output a comms team would act on. Findings here are described qualitatively and are illustrative of the engine behaviour rather than a scored client report.
